Every move is different. Use this guide as a starting point and adapt it to your property, access, dates and belongings.

Six to eight weeks before

Confirm your likely move date, compare removal arrangements, declutter items you no longer need and begin a simple inventory. Check access and parking at both properties.

Two to four weeks before

Book your mover, arrange packing materials, tell utilities and key organisations, and separate items that need specialist handling.

The final week

Pack non-essentials, label boxes by destination room, confirm keys and access, prepare an essentials bag and photograph valuable or delicate items.

Moving day

Keep medicines, documents, chargers and keys with you. Walk through the old property, check cupboards and meters, then guide the moving team on priority rooms at the new address.

Ask for the right level of help

Decide early whether you want transport only, help loading, full packing or a survey-led house removal. If you need beds or wardrobes dismantled, mention them before quotation rather than assuming they are included.

After arrival

Direct large furniture to its final rooms first, then check numbered cartons against your list. Keep the first-night essentials separate and report any concern promptly with photos and your booking details.
