Every move is different. Use this guide as a starting point and adapt it to your property, access, dates and belongings.

Appoint decision makers

Give one person responsibility for the moving plan, with named contacts for IT, facilities and each department. Share both building managers' rules early.

Back up before disconnecting

Your IT team should back up data, document cabling and handle specialist disconnection and reconnection. Movers can carry properly prepared equipment under an agreed handling plan.

Label every destination

Use a floor, zone and workstation code for crates, monitors, chairs and desks. Test the code on a few items before rolling it out across the office.

Protect confidential material

Agree who packs, seals, carries and receives sensitive files or data-bearing devices. Keep a separate record where custody matters.

Plan the first working day

Identify essential devices and departments that must be operational first. Confirm lift bookings, loading windows, access cards and any weekend or evening restrictions in the written schedule.
