Every move is different. Use this guide as a starting point and adapt it to your property, access, dates and belongings.

List everything

Include suitcases, boxes, bedding, desk chair, bicycle, instruments and any furniture rather than estimating a small room.

Coordinate accommodation windows

Confirm key collection, reception hours, parking and whether the lift needs booking.

Label shared loads

If friends share transport, use names and destination rooms on every item and keep separate inventories.

Pack a first-night bag

Keep identification, tenancy documents, chargers, medication, toiletries and basic bedding with you.

Keep the load manageable

A few boxes and suitcases may suit a small van, but desks, bicycles or a shared collection can change capacity. Give each friend's items a separate label and destination.

Compare the full price

Ask whether the quote includes a loading helper, stairs, a minimum booking time, additional stops and storage. Flexible dates may offer options, but always confirm the written total and scope.
